Why the Care Force? How can we possibly change this troubled world? The answer at Harleysville: one person at a time. Harleysvilles Care Force connects people who want to make a difference with those who so desperately need assistance. Employees discover where in the community they are most needed, then choose individual or group volunteer activities that suit their interests and skills. Who the Care Force helps We all have moments in our lives when we rely on the support of friends and family to pull us through tough times. What happens to people who dont have their own support network? Thats who the Care Force is for. Through contact with nonprofit humanitarian organizations, Harleysville employees reach out to those who dont have anyone to turn to. Harleysville employees, through a committee of representatives called the Care Force council, decide which organizations and volunteer activities to support. Care Force projects generally focus on disadvantaged citizens, housing and neighborhood development, the environment, and education and safety programs. How it works Theres a "feel-good" feeling that goes with helping others. With the Care Force, there are so many ways to volunteer, employees are sure to find an opportunity that fits their interests, skills and schedule. On the bulletin board, employees find information about the projects the Care Force is currently supporting. Each of these "official" projects has a sponsor on the Care Force Council.
