What the training topics program includes
Cost of the program
Overview
SafetyFirst has prepared a series of training topics that can be used
for short safety talks, classroom presentations or may simply be
distributed to drivers for their review. The topics focus on types of
collisions and the safe driving practices that are commonly recognized
to help avoid these collisions. Some of the topics include:
- Drowsy Driving
- Intersection Collisions
- Pedestrian Collisions
- Red Light Running

been very well received and SafetyFirst has sold multiple subscriptions
to fleets |

or do not use the Fleet Safety Hotline. The archives of past
issues are maintained at the SafetyFirst website, so
that interested clients may log in and download additional topics for
inclusion in their safety programs. |
What the training topics
program includes
Packets delivered by e-mail on a monthly basis include:

A “how
to” guide for managers to prepare safety talks or more formal
presentations to groups of employees.

A
two-page handout for drivers to read during or after a presentation on
the topic. (These can be distributed to employees in a lieu of a formal
meeting, but we strongly encourage face-to-face meetings whenever
possible.)

An 8.5” x 11” safety poster for the company bulletin board. The poster is
attached to the driver handout sheets in case these are simply distributed
to employees without a presentation, and to further reinforce the topic’s
key points.

A Manager’s supplement providing additional
information that helps the manager:
- Offer
additional insights on any topic and become the
 perceived safety
“expert” in the eyes of company drivers
- Review
and align the company’s policies with industry best
practices (e.g.,
cell phone policy)
- Engage
the audience by offering news stories related to
specific topics
- PowerPoint
presentations to facilitate classroom sessions. (Two versions—with and
without graphics.)
Cost of the program
This service is free
to customers of Harleysville Insurance who participate in the Safety
First Fleet Safety Hotline program. For all others, annual subscriptions
are available from SafetyFirst for $500 per fleet.
